The Design Cycle plus extra: My Music Class Schedule

Hey guys, and welcome to my school blog. In this post, we'll be discussing about how the "design cycle" works in certain subjects such as IT, Performing and Visual Arts, and subjects like that. So without further ado, let's just get straight down to it!

The design cycle is broken down into 5 stages: Investigation, Design, Plan, Creation and Evaluation. These must be done in order to ensure that the project that uses this "design cycle" can achieve its maximum effectiveness. Here they are...

Step 1: Investigation

  1. First you need to brainstorm ideas, find inspiration for the project. list down the ideas.
  2. Create a survey in order to find out what the crowd would like the project to be like.
  3. Decide on the final idea out of all the other ideas you've come up with.
  4. Add restrictions for the product, then "narrow down" the product down to 8-10 ideas.
  5. Research from various different sources, and do the research carefully and deeply. This will give you more results and even MORE ideas. Remember to add the bibliography, though.
Step 2: Design

  1. Brainstorm MORE ideas.
  2. Create rough sketches of what the final product will probably look like, with these sketches being realistic designs of the final product. Create 5 sketches. You'll decide which one to choose later on.
  3. In the end, you will have your final three ideas of what your product will probably be like. Annotate and clarify these ideas to help you decide what your final choice is going to be. A storyboard will also be essential for each idea.
Step 3: Creation

  1. Remember to stick to the plan when creating the product and use the appropriate materials to make the product.
  2. Create a "process journal" for keeping track of your activities during the duration of the product's creation. Every time you've completed a phase of the product, add a journal entry regarding your progress on the product. Also remember to explain the process of the product's creation.
  3. Add a few modifications to the final product, but only if necessary.
  4. Reflect: Did you or did you not stick to the plan?
  5. Add some photos/other types of evidence that you actually created the product.
Step 4: Evaluation

  1. Reflect on whether the product was a success or a failure. Also remember to measure the closeness of the product to its actual plan back in the beginning of its creation.
  2. Evaluate and reflect on the process. Could there have been any improvements that could've been made?
So yeah, that should be it for the design cycle, and that's how we do things in Global Jaya. Hopefully this post was somehow useful to any of you guys out there. For the teacher who gave this assignment, (YES, this is yet ANOTHER assignment. This isn't something I'd do willfully, if you want to know) this is proof that I have done it. But as an extra, (assignment given to me by the very same teacher) here's my schedule of my music classes throughout the year:
Part 2: My Music Schedule
In a school week, there are 5 days. (excluding weekends) In one school week, There are three music lessons, one period for each of these three days. At the end of the 1st term, I will have to change subjects from Music to other subjects, the others being VOCAL music, drama and art. Now the first term ends at the 8th of October, and that means the break is still... (my mind is still processing) You know what? Screw that thought. We're here to discuss about my music schedule. In total, there are going to be around 17 days worth of playing music until the term break comes. So yeah, that's it. (the assignment, I mean)

That'll be all for today... Now I shall head upstairs and get a few hours of sleep after hanging around until 12 p.m. making these assignments.
