So today we (the music class, that is) gathered up once again after looking at all those topics we came up with. As we put it to a vote which topics were the best out of all the ones we've dreamed up, The final six choices that the class decided was... (note: the list is not in order of popularity)
1. Medley
2. Traditional VS Modern music
3. A tribute to the great deceased music artists before us
4. "Back to the Future", (but this time about music instead of time-traveling people you see in the movie)
5. One hit wonders
6. Legends in musical history (the difference that separates it from the "tribute" idea is that these legends can be dead OR alive)
Later, the class was divided into groups for each of these six topics, each group tasked with one of the six most voted topics that the class decided. The tasks and the people who were working on it are as follows: (I've added a few "editorials" to give a bit more "insight" to the post, but you can skip them if you want)
The Medley is analyzed by Keizar, Dom and George. (the class decided that this group should've had a girl in it to "balance things out", but I guess that idea was scrapped... probably until further notice. Not ALL the members of the class have decided what they wanted to research)
NOTICE: If you're reading this strictly just to know who's paired up with who in researching about the topic for the music performance, Read only the first sentence of the first following paragraph. If you wish to hear my side of the story, feel free to read every word after that until the end of the next paragraph. My "story" starts now.
Traditional VS Modern music is researched by Dandy, Rifa, Rasyid and yours truly. (When I decided to join this group, (and believe me, it was a pretty tough decision) I heard some commotion in the class (or so I thought) including some (potentially heard) moans of disagreement. I guess that I've made quite the impression (good or bad, I don't know) on SOME members of the class. Guys, correct me if I'm wrong) I thought that it was a pretty good idea (it was a difficult choice compared to the others, but I guess in the end the reasons were balanced out for me) to join said group.
My "story" ends here.
The (main) reason I joined the group was that I'd like to see the impact of traditional compared to modern music and how the two are similar/extremely different to each other, and I guessed it was going to be pretty exciting. My teammates (once again, correct me if I'm wrong) however, seemed to think otherwise. I do hope we get off on the same foot though, because the work will be a lot harder to do without the full group's cooperation. Anyway, enough jabbering about myself, let's just move on to the next topic...
"Back to the Future" (music edition) are investigated by Johan, Rachael and Belinda.
One Hit Wonders is delved into more by Michael, Alysa and Fahrani. (there was a brief argument by the class about the group and the members that were to be in it, but I think that the details of the issue would be better off kept to us members of the class)
And last but not least, Legends in Music are examined by Farah, Amyra, Najwa and Hana. (after the suggestion about putting a girl in the "medley" group, (see above) some members of the class in turn suggested to put a guy in this group to "balance the genders" that were in the group, but I guess that was scrapped as well... probably until further notice, like the "medley" group)
So that was my interpretation of the groups and the things they were tasked with. Hopefully this will be useful not just for the teacher, (who, once again, assigned the thing in the first place) but for the public to read. So therefore, thank you for reading and see you in the next post. Goodbye.
