Yeah, I've known these guys for at least a year now, (at least the ones I'm close friends with) and I know quite a lot about the majority of them. (the rest, well, a little, but not very much) However, I will have to admit, the discussion we had was a very fruitful one. My friends (regardless of whether they were close to me or not) astounded me with quite a $#!+-ton of information that most of us students didn't know already about said student, and sometimes there were facts that amazed the students' closest friends.
Yesterday, (as of today, which is September the 2nd, "yesterday" would be the 1st of September) the class gathered up and shared to the whole class about their talents, (musical or otherwise) what kind of instrument they played, what kind of music they liked, and finally, their notable characteristics as a person. We had a good laugh over sharing these facts about each other. Anyway, here were the results...
Madina enjoys writing poems, and she plays a good guitar. She seems to be fine with any genre of music, and she claims to be a fit and able mediator. (after searching up this word on the dictionary, I found out that this meant that she was what I would call a "peacemaker"; a person who would engage people who are in a conflict and make them come to an agreement)
Tasya likes to dance, (mostly to hip-hop music) enjoys playing the piano, and like Madina, approves of any type of music and claims to be a good mediator.
Rasyid likes to play with words and occasionally sings. (as a close friend of his, I've never actually seen him sing, but I'd like to see him doing so) Like the previous students, he claims to like any genre of music. (I've noted that he likes "slow songs" He notes that he has been a fast learner and a good "teacher". (most likely in the case that his friends need some assistance in their studies)
Domenico (or Dom as we students like to call him) is a notorious "remixer"/DJ. (I discovered this when people in the class CONSTANTLY commented on him being an awesome DJ/"remixer". Apparently he's notorious for his talent in the "art of remixing", as I would like to call it) He plays a pretty good guitar, likes any type of music (as per usual) and claims to be a fast learner.
Najwa likes to draw and sing songs. She seems to be OK with any type of music, (just like the other four students before her) like the previous girls in this post, claims to be a good mediator. (girls seem to have that one knack about being good peacemakers compared to us boys)
Nadya enjoys poetry (although I currently do not know what part of it she enjoys; either listening to it, creating her own, or maybe even both, but I do know for a fact that she enjoys it) and singing. (that's true, she often expresses her love of Justin Timberlake songs, once quietly singing one such song in IT class back in 7th grade. And NO, don't assume this was discovered due to stalking or any of that $#!+, I'm pretty sure other people than me know that fact as well) She prefers alternative rock and house music out of all the other music styles, and notes that she is humorous and someone you'd call a mood-maker. And by "mood-maker" I mean that that's what the class assumed her to be, after the class found out that she was good at creating pick... up... You know what? I think I'm giving too much information. Better stop before this leads to me getting my @$$ kicked during music tomorrow.
Dandy enjoys dancing, singing and plays a good piano. He prefers indie pop out of all the other music genres. He claims to be a fit and capable leader.
Keizar notes his skills as a communicator, and (according to a large percentage of the class) a ludicrous comedian. This is true, considering that last year in my English class Keizar had launched a gut-busting, outrageous and creative puns, including:
- ("Repeating" his teacher's statement) "My voice is getting a bit "horse".
- "What? I don't know what you're talking 'a-boat'." (folds a piece of paper into a boat)
- "I stepped on some cereal one day and people started calling me "cereal" killer."
- And many more.
Rachael enjoys drawing, likes playing the piano, enjoys all types of music and claims to be a loyal follower to other people. (probably regardless if said person has leader-like features or is just as normal as the next guy, she didn't clarify this with the class)
Daleescha (pronounced Duh-lee-shuh) says that she likes to dance, play the violin, enjoys every kind of music, and like some of the students mentioned before, is dubbed a "mood-maker" by the class.
Then there's Jason, me. I enjoyed writing stories (my classmates have had a bit of a laugh over my stories last year in 7th grade, and yeah, I've noticed I've got some talent as a story-writer, and I guess a bit of talent for philosophy. You can check out some of my philosophy here, if you want) and I occasionally sang. (of course, not out loud, but sometimes in a quiet voice when I'm alone in my bedroom or whenever I'm by myself with nobody around to hear. I don't know why it's so embarrassing, but that's just the way I roll) For "preferred music genre", I picked something different compared to what the other students said: Anything... EXCEPT for... okay, here I go... (deep breath) One Direction and Justin Bieber. (Okay, I'm just going to use this moment to brace myself for any hate comments from all those die-hard "Directioners" and "Beliebers" who criticize my dislike for them) Even my closest friends didn't know about this fact about me.
If any of you readers are protesting why I dislike 1D and JB, (part of my class did too, especially during the "One Direction" part. Justin Bieber? Not that much. Sorry, Beliebers) click here to see my arguments about THEM. (for people that are fans AND are easily irritated, I suggest you avoid reading it altogether to stop your temper from smashing the device you're reading this on) Otherwise, read on.
Anyway, for my "notable characteristics", the class concluded that I was pretty humorous guy, (possibly due to my stories and the way I introduced my dislike of 1D and JB to the class) while I claimed myself to be a patient person. Okay, that was enough rambling about myself, so let's just move on to other students.
George enjoys drawing (very true: As a close friend I've often seen him doodling on his notebook during English class for as long as he's been in this school. Hell, virtually half of his English notebook is filled with these illustrations) and playing the drums. (OK, in the range of time that I've been in school with him, I've never seen him touch a drum) He likes any type of music (wait, there's an exception) as long as it isn't classical music. The class describes him as creative, which is apparently evident in his drawings. Other than that, I don't know what else they know about him that makes them think he's more creative than the next guy, but I hope there was.
Alysa is a talented "talker", (Which is quite right. She and her twin sister Amyra (who, for some strange reason, isn't here on the list despite the two being in the same class, causing a bit of identity crisis) are well-known for their discipline and work ethic, which might explain her outstanding "talking skills". Amyra may also have these skills, but it's unconfirmed (at least to me) enjoys playing the piano and the guitar, likes to listen to acoustic music, and claims to be a good motivator.
Rifa enjoys dancing, especially to K-Pop. She played the harp, (I guess she doesn't play it anymore due to a small "incident" with the harp in which she said to her parents she wanted a harp, which is what her parents gave her. Later on in her life, she regretted asking for one in the first place. (don't ask me why) She apparently still regrets that decision until now) likes rapping, listening to R&B and Folk music, and is a fit and capable leader. (proved by the numerous times she had joined various school events as the volunteer)
Michael (or Mike to his friends) enjoys drawing, playing the bass, the guitar, and the ukulele. (that is a lot of instruments, huh?) He dislikes slow songs, mainly because it "restricts" his movement, him being a "kinesthetic" type of guy. He enjoys cracking people up. (which has got him into trouble more times than I can even care to remember)
So there's the list of people in my music class. Hopefully, dear reader, (whoever you may be; teacher, outraged Directioner/Belieber, or maybe even one of the students in my class) this list satisfies its purpose. Whether it's to inform you fans about my dislike of the two artists/bands that some people may like, (check back to my profile if you're not sure what I'm talking about/need to "refresh your memory" a bit) as proof to my teacher that I've done my homework (in the most complicated and unnecessary way possible in the class) or just for your amusement.
Specifically for my friends in my class, I know that I virtually GLAZED references about you guys on this post like frosting on a cake, so please don't bombard me with insults about the fact that I didn't ask for your permissions to talk about yourselves online, especially because there might be some chance of you seeing something that's supposed to be kept under wraps on my blog. Hopefully I didn't hurt you guys in any way, but if you feel hurt, I won't complain if you decide to scream at me or B!+$#-slap me or do whatever you do to guys who talk about personal details too much, especially by spreading said details online.
So basically, I hope that I'm still in the "middle ground' after writing this post. If I'm not, well, I'm probably going to have to spend the next few days away from school and away the mighty swell of public outrage, (which might still be mad at me after the 1D/JB statement) but hopefully it won't come to that. But for now, I'll wrap this post up and hope for the best. So thanks for reading and see you... next time!
